Fantasy Premier League GW10: Key Injury Updates and Team News

The 10th gameweek of the Fantasy Premier League is here and it is very important to make sure you pick the right team. In order to do that you need to be aware of absentees, be it through injuries or suspension. In this article, we will discuss this week’s absentees in detail.

AFC Bournemouth

Bournemouth host Manchester City this weekend in a difficult game for them. Alex Scott (knee), Luis Sinisterra (being assessed) and Kepa (groin) are all expected to miss the action. Phillip Billing is expected to be back from illness.

Arsenal

Arsenal travel to Newcastle United this weekend, but they will be without the services of Riccardo Calafiori (knee), Kieran Tierney (thigh), Martin Odegaard (foot) and Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee). Gabriel (knee) will be assessed again before the game.

Aston Villa

Incredibly, Aston Villa have no injury issues at all at the present moment.

Brentford

Brentford travel to Fulham this weekend. Igor Thiago (knee), Josh DaSilva (knee), Rico Henry (knee), Aaron Hickey (thigh) and Gustavo Nunes (back) are all out injured. Kristoff Ajer had an ankle issue and will be returning this gameweek.

Brighton

Brighton have a very difficult game this weekend as they face Liverpool. They have a long injury list. Adam Webster (thigh), James Milner (thigh), Joao Pedro (ankle), Matt O’Riley (ankle), Lewis Dunk (calf) are all out with injuries. Solly March returns from a long injury and will be assessed, while Yankuba Minteh will have a late fitness test. Ferdi Kadioglu is also expected to miss out.

Chelsea

There will be no big absentees from the Chelsea squad. They are facing Manchester United this weekend, so Jadon Sancho can’t play as he has a parent club match, and Omari Kellyman has no hamstring problems.

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace got their first win last weekend against Tottenham. Jefferson Lerma (hamstring strain), Chadi Riad (knee), Cheick Doucoure (football), Chris Richards (thigh) and Matheus Franca (hip) are all injured. Rob Holding is training alone for some other issue. Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton were concerningly taken off in the Carabao Cup game versus Aston Villa.

Everton

Everton travel to Southampton this weekend. They will be without the services of Tim Iroegbunam (foot), Youssef Chermiti (foot), Armando Broja (calf) and Dele Alli (hip). James Garner has a back problem and is to be assessed and Dwight McNeil has a knee issue and he is to be assessed too.

Fulham

Fulham face Brentford this weekend. Sasa Lukic (shoulder), Joachim Andersen (red card), Carlos Vinicius (being assessed) and Timothy Castagne (thigh) will all miss the action. Andreas Pereira might play though as he only had a knock.

Ipswich Town

Axel Tuanzebe (wrist), Massimo Luongo (ankle), Jacob Greaves (thigh), Harry Clarke (red), Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) and Sam Morsy (thigh) will all miss Ipswich Town’s game against Leicester City. Omari Hutchinson had an illness and could return while Ben Johnson is recovering from a thigh problem and could return.

Leicester City

Leicester City have Patson Daka (foot) and Victor Kristiansen (pelvic) out for the game against Ipswich Town.

Liverpool

Liverpool face a tough test against Brighton this weekend. Alisson (thigh), Diogo Jota (abdominal), Federico Chiesa (undisclosed) as well as Harvey Elliott (ankle) will all miss the action.

Manchester City

Manchester City have a couple of long-term injuries in Rodri (ACL) and Oscar Bobb (broken leg). Kevin de Bruyne (hip), Kyle Walker (knee) and Jeremy Doku (undisclosed) are not fit just yet. Jack Grealish however is set to return this weekend for the Bournemouth fixture. Manuel Akanji and Savinho picked up problems in the Carabao Cup game while Josko Gvardiol was also getting treatment.

Manchester United

Manchester United have an interesting game against Chelsea this weekend with their managerial situation in limbo. Kobbie Mainoo (thigh), Harry Maguire (calf), Leny Yoro (ankle), Luke Shaw (calf), Noussair Mazraoui (knee – to be assessed) and Antony (ankle) are expected to miss this clash. Mason Mount had a head injury and should be in line to return. Tyrell Malacia had a long knee injury and will being assessed to see if he return.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United have a number of injuries. Jamaal Lascelles (knee), Sven Botman (knee), Callum Wilson (back), and Kieran Trippier (thigh) aren’t likely to be back any time soon. Anthony Gordon had a groin problem and will be subjected to a late fitness test before they take on Arsenal.

Nottingham Forest

The surprise story of this season, Nottingham Forest have a long absentee list. Danilo (ankle), Ibrahim Sangare (thigh) and James Ward-Prowse (can’t face parent club) will miss the game versus West Ham. Morgan Gibbs-White has an ankle problem and is going to be assessed. Chris Wood had a knock and is expected to be back.

Southampton

Southampton have Gavin Bazunu (Achilles tendon) and William Smallbone (thigh) all out injured versus Everton. Flynn Downes had a knock but is expected to return for the game.

Tottenham Hotspur

Djed Spence has a groin problem and is waiting to be assessed. Heung Min Son injured his thigh and will await the results of a late fitness test. Wilson Odobert suffered a setback in recovery from a thigh injury and will miss the game versus Aston Villa. Micky Van De Ven was also substituted with injury in the Carabao Cup game.

West Ham

West Ham will be without Mo Kudus through suspension and Niclas Fullkrug (calf) through injury versus Nottingham Forest.

Wolves

Wolves have a number of long-term injuries in Yerson Mosquera (ACL), Sasa Kalajdzic (ACL) and Boubacar Traore (knee). Hee-Chan Hwang (ankle) will return in a few weeks while Mario Lemina and Sam Johnstone will take late fitness tests before facing Crystal Palace.
