Gameweek 18 of the Fantasy Premier League season is soon going to be upon us. In the context of that it is important to look at how the last GW went. Gameweek 17 took place last weekend and threw up several interesting things to take note of. The stars of the show in the previous GW were Mo Salah from Liverpool, who managed 21 points, Alexander Isak of Newcastle who managed a tally of 17 points and Dominik Szoboszlai of Liverpool who also managed a tally of 17 points. The fixture to keep an eye out for this week is that of Manchester City who are in the midst of a really difficult streak versus an Everton side who have done well of late.

Ismaila Sarr (Crystal Palace) £5.8m
Crystal Palace haven’t had a great time this season. Their attack in particular has suffered. Micheal Olise left and Eberechi Eze lost form, as did JP Mateta. In step Ismaila Sarr. Signed from Marseille, this isn’t the first time that the Senegal international has shone in the Premier League. But so far he has 4 goals and 2 assists, a blessing for the struggling Eagles. His price rise is highly warranted, given he has 4 goal contributions, in his 2 previous Premier League games. Palace also have decent fixtures at the moment.
Jhon Duran (Aston Villa) £5.9m
Jhon Duran started the season like a house on fire. Every game, he came on and scored for Villa. Many of them were absolute screamers. Somewhere in the middle, he lost his form and people thought that the Colombian youngster’s purple patch was over. But it was never a purple patch, it’s just the absolute high-class quality that Duran boasts. The 21-year-old has netted 7 times in the Premier League so far this season, despite only coming on from the bench on most occasions. Now a starter, many more points await in Fantasy Premier League.
Alexander Isak (Newcastle) £9.0m
Newcastle have been up and down, as they have struggled to find any sort of consistency this season. This is the reason that they find themselves at 8th in the table. But Alexander Isak is someone who has really impressed for the Magpies this season.l, especially of late. Widely regarded as one of the best forwards in the Premier League, the Swede has netted 10 times this season and assisted another 4 times. This includes a return to form of late, with 8 goal contributions in his last 4 outings in the league.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) £10.5m
Bukayo Saka has injured his hamstring and therefore will miss Premier League action over the next few weeks. He is a hugely reliable FPL asset and was therefore owned by a lot of people and thus a lot of people have had to get replacements for the Arsenal winger, thus bringing his price down. It will be interesting to see whether or not Arsenal completely collapses in the absence of their talisman or whether they can keep up in their challenge for the Premier League title.
Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) £6.7m
Unfortunately, it appears that the conclusion is approaching for Marcus Rashford in Manchester United colors as his price has decreased for two consecutive weeks. The academy graduate had begun well under Ruben Amorim and it seemed like things were about to improve. However, that has not transpired, with Amorim excluding him from the squad entirely for the recent matches. The manager has suggested that it might be a situation he cannot influence much due to the administrative aspects involved. Rashford has also conducted an interview, indicating that it may be time to seek a new challenge in his professional career. Is there a transfer anticipated for him in January?
Caoimhin Kelleher (Liverpool) £4.4m
Coaimhin Kelleher has to be the unluckiest goalkeeper on the planet. He is universally rated as the best second-choice keeper on the planet. However, he is second choice to Alisson which means every time the Brazilian recovers from his injury, Kelleher instantly has to leave his spot, no matter how good he might have been. His lack of minutes will mean a drop in FPL prices but the performances in the biggest games this season will mean that the Reds will soon have offers for him that neither he nor them will be able to turn down.
