The Globe Soccer Awards are another set of awards in the ilk of the FIFA The Best or the Ballon d’Or. Founded in 2010, the Globe Soccer Awards are orchestrated by their namesake, Globe Soccer. The event occurs each January in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to honour the most significant individuals in the football realm.The awards were established by renowned agent Jorge Mendes together with Italian entrepreneur Riccardo Silva and Tommaso Bendoni. Mendes has secured the Best Agent title in 11 of the 13 years since its inception.
The Globe Soccer Awards will hold its next iteration of the ceremony earlier than usual, on December 27, in Dubai in order to recognize the best across the world of football in the 2024 calendar year.
The procedure for choosing award winners consists of two phases of voting, which football fans from around the globe take part. It features ex-players Francesco Totti, Ian Rush, and Luis Figo, present players like Alexia Putellas, coaches Antonio Conte and Fabio Capello, previous referees, club officials, entrepreneurs, and even a representative from the Dubai Sports Council, among others.
