Throughout his time playing for the Real Madrid youth team and the Spanish national team, Jaime Barroso has displayed a level of maturity and attacking prowess that has allowed him to notch up significant numbers in front of goal.

Despite being a teenager, his understanding of the game specifically that of a striker has been quite impressive. Owing to his performances, Jaime Barroso has been likened to former Real Madrid striker Joselu, a cunning and opportunistic striker who had a knack for popping up in key positions to nab a goal.

In Joselu’s brief second stint at the Bernabeu, he made a name for himself, coming on when the team was in dire need of a goal and turning games on their head at the most unexpected moment. A key example of this was when he scored twice against Bayern Munich in the 2023 UEFA Champions League Semi-finals to send his side into the finals.

For the most part, the contract and salary details of academy and youth players are never made public. Owing to the budding ages of the young talents, their minds are usually veered off of contract details, salaries, bonuses, and such. Thus, it is difficult to arrive at an estimated salary or net worth for Jaime Barroso.

Currently, details regarding his new contract have not been revealed either and neither has there been an update in the player’s release clause. Previously, sources suggested that Jaime Barroso, when he was still 16 years old, had a €50m release clause inserted into his contract. Notably, there were reports of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona’s attempts to try and steal away the youngster when he was at Vallecano.

That said, the Los Blancos were successful in securing the youngster and have since made a smart move to insert a sizeable release clause into the player’s contract. Whilst it may not have been of much use in the past, seeing that Barroso is set to turn 18 next year, may lead to competition for his signature among the Spanish clubs.

Big Expectations from Jaime Barroso

By all means, Jaime Barroso is one future star that we must keep an eye out for. With a splendid record for the Real Madrid academy and the Spanish national team, there are growing beliefs among the Los Blancos hierarchy that Barroso will soon develop to be in a position where he can contend for a spot in the first team.

Despite Real Madrid’s reputation for not catering or involving youth players in their squad, Jaime Barroso will hope to be an exception and with the rave reviews that he has already received, could well be on his way to be just that.
