In 2018: Joao Felix caught the attention of the Benfica management after some heroic displays in the league and UEFA Youth League. His promotion was fast-tracked and sent to the senior team. Felix made his senior debut against Premeira Liga before scoring his goal against Porto, becoming the youngest player to score in the Lisbon Derby.
In 2019: Felix continued to dominate in the Primeira Liga by scoring tons of goals. In the UEFA Europa League, he recorded his first hat-trick in a 4-2 win against Eintracht Frankfurt. Joao Felix kickstarted his international career with the under-18 team of Portugal against Norway and scored a brace on his debut. In 2019, he received an international call-up from the Portugal Senior team and made his debut in the UEFA Nations League Finals on home turf against Switzerland.
