Kudus is one of the most talented footballers to come out of Africa in recent years. His football journey began in his home country, Ghana, where he was scouted by Right to Dream Academy, which has also produced many top players. He developed technical abilities, football IQ at the academy, and tactical awareness from his coaches. Kudus was a naturally gifted attacker who was scouted at a young age by European scouts, and on January 18, at just 17 years of age, he moved to Europe, joining the Danish Club FC Nordsjælland.

Kudus debuted for Nordsjælland three days after turning 18, which ended in a 2-0 loss for his side in the Danish Superliga. He was deployed as a striker and was substituted before the second half. Kudus displayed great potential in his first season with the Danish side, making an impact early in the league. His performances helped him secure a place in the first team and cement his name as one of the brightest young talents in the league.

He can also play as an attacking midfielder and a striker, making him a key squad player for the club. He ended his first season with five goals and three assists in 18 appearances for the club, making waves through other big clubs in Europe. After spending two years in Denmark, Kudus moved to the club known for producing the best young talents in the world, Ajax Amsterdam.

Ajax paid him a reported €9 million fee, solidifying their grit in investing in young, talented players. He debuted against RKC Waalwijk in a 3-0 victory for Ajax. Shortly after, he suffered a meniscus injury in a Champions League match against Liverpool, which kept him out of action for months.

He was a part of Ajax’s Eredivisie and KNVB Cup victories in his beginning years; however, he struggled with more injuries. While playing for Ghana, he injured his rib and was out for several matches. Following that, he had an ankle injury, following which he had his breakout with Ajax. Ever since he turned pro, the Ghanaian has been sidelined in his career due to injury concerns and time taken for recovery. However, his determination to bounce back and perform certainly adds to his quality. Kudus faced a meniscus injury in October 2020, just after joining Ajax against Liverpool. He had only been on the pitch for 6 minutes before he suffered, which kept him out for many months. He went through surgery and missed a considerable period in the 20/21 season.

He returned to fitness in January 2021 and played his first match back with Ajax the following month, where he scored in their 4-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam—after finishing the season with a double, Kudus hoped for an enthralling 2021, which was cut short due to him suffering an ankle injury in July. He returned to action in September when he scored a goal as a substitute in Ajax’s 5-0 victory over Fortuna Sittard.

Just months after being fit, Kudus suffered a rib injury during a World Cup qualifier match against South Africa. He had ruptured his rib, which resulted in him being sidelined for almost 3 months and missing the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations despite making it to the squad.

He then returned to Ajax in February 2022, where he gradually made his place back into the team from injuries. He appeared in the Eredivisie and the Champions League while still suffering minor injuries. He had a fantastic 2023, fully recovered, and had 24 goal contributions for the Dutch club.

However, as the Ghanian was preparing to move to the West London club in 2023, he had a few concerns with muscle fatigue and hip issues. Nonetheless, he made his way to fitness and impressed for the Hammers in his debut season. Since then, Kudus has stayed injury-free, contributing significantly and showing his talents for West Ham.

He has learned from his injuries and often adapted his playstyle to maximum efficiency. He continues to take on defenders without fear, emerging as one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League.
