- Date: Saturday, November 9, 2024
- Time: 3:00 pm GMT
- Venue: Gtech Community Stadium
Brentford will host Bournemouth at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League Match Day 11. It will be an intriguing mid-table clash between the two sides.
Brentford have had their ups and downs this season but have largely managed to edge out results amidst their injury issues. They have four wins, one draw, and five defeats in their 10 league matches. They sit 12th in the table, two points behind Fulham (9th), Bournemouth (10th), and Newcastle United (11th).
Bournemouth, meanwhile, have been excellent under Andoni Iraola this season. They are 10th in the table after going through a run of tough fixtures. They have taken seven points in their last three games against Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Manchester City. Hence, they will be high on confidence.
However, Brentford are a clever side under Thomas Frank and will look to negate Bournemouth’s threat.
Brentford Team News
Brentford will be without Aaron Hickey, Gustavo Gomes, Thiago Rodrigues, Joshua Dasilva, Kristoffer Ajer, and Rico Henry due to their respective injuries. Gomes is expected to return in December while the others are expected to return after the upcoming international break this month.

Key Players to watch in Brentford vs Bournemouth
Bryan Mbeumo
Bryan Mbeumo has been exceptional for Brentford this season. He’s taken up the role of leading the attack following Ivan Toney’s departure and is doing it perfectly. He’s scored eight goals in 10 league games, with only Erling Haaland (11) having scored more goals than him in the league.
With Wissa also returning from injury, Mbeumo will have a great partner to combine with and increase his threat up front. Since joining Brentford from Troyes in 2019, he’s registered 58 goals and 42 assists in 212 games.
Antoine Semenyo
Just like Brentford’s right-winger Bryan Mbeumo, Bournemouth’s right-winger Antoine Semenyo is also garnering plenty of attention this season. He has played on both flanks this season for the Cherries and has been effective regardless.
Semenyo is the main creative outlet for Bournemouth and has registered four goals and one assist in 10 league games. His dribbling skills and passing under pressure has seen him help the team on numerous occasions.
Since arriving from Bristol City in January 2023, he’s registered 13 goals and three assists in 58 games for Bournemouth.
Brentford vs Bournemouth Prediction
Both sides have put in impressive performances this season, especially against some big teams in the Premier League. They have exceptionally talented players and tactically astute managers, making it a really intriguing clash.
Brentford have two wins in their last five league games, with two defeats and one draw. They lost 2-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage in their last game in spectacular fashion. They were leading 1-0 until the stoppage time, where Fulham scored twice to take all three points.
Bournemouth, meanwhile, are on an excellent run of form with three wins, one draw, and one loss in their last five league games. They beat Arsenal, drew against Aston Villa, and then beat Manchester City in their last three games.
The Cherries have struggled a bit away from home, though, which could be a big factor for Saturday’s clash. Both sides are quite evenly matched and it should also reflect on the pitch with a draw.
Predicted Score: 2-2
