Aston Villa 3-1 Brentford: Player Ratings as Ollie Watkins Shines in Dominant Win

Aston Villa have ended their slump with a stunning win over Brentford at home. They managed a 3-1 win over the London side to jump to 7th in the table – just 4 behind 4th placed Manchester City.

Morgan Rogers opened the scoring for the home side in the 21st minute before Ollie Watkins doubled the lead 7 minutes later from the spot. Matty Cash, who was disappointing against Chelsea in the previous game, scored the 3rd goal of the match before halftime.

Brentford came out after the break with the intention to get back in the game and scored a goal quickly. Damsgaard scored just 9 minutes after the break, but the goal was the final one of the match, and it ended 3-1.

Goalkeeper

Mark Flekken – 8.5: The goalkeeper made seven saves in the match is the only reason the scoreline remained respectable. He was easily their best player on the pitch today as he also came close to saving the penalty.

Defenders

Sepp van den Berg – 6.5: Started poorly but settled in well. However, it was too little too late as they were already 3-0 down at that time.

Nathan Collins – 7: Sat back and controlled the game but could not do much about the goals.

Ethan Pinnock – 5.5: The defender kept getting rinsed by Watkins and there was nothing he could do to keep the striker quiet.

Keane Lewis-Potter – 6: He spent most of the time in attack but just could not get things sorted as his crosses never got to his teammate.

Midfielders

Yehor Yarmoliuk – 6.5: He never looked settled on the pitch and was hardly involved in the match. He played over an hour and just could not do anything in attack.

Vitaly Janelt – 6: He was never able to get in the game despite playing the whole match. He did his best but never got things going.
