Bournemouth looked on for an upset for the visitors at the Vitality stadium on Saturday but Antony Semeneyo’s shot hit the crossbar with the final kick of the game. Joao Pedro and Kaoru Mitoma were on strike as Brighton defeated Bournemouth as the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Carlos Baleba was sent off in the second half.

The Brazilian winger continued his terrific form as he put the seagulls ahead in the fourth minute pouncing on a rebound after fellow forward Georginio Rutter’s powerful low effort was saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Bournemouth spurned a couple of opportunities and were punished after Japanese winger Mitoma doubled Brighton’s lead, slotting into the bottom corner after Pedro’s stunning through ball beat the home side’s defence.
