Spain have managed to seal their place on top of the group with a match remaining. Mikel Oyarzabal and Ayoze Perez scored the goals before Gustav Isaksen pulled one back for Denmark.
However, the late goal was not enough to spark a comeback, and the Danish side will now need to avoid defeat to Serbia in the final match of the group stage to qualify for the knockout stage.
Denmark player ratings vs Spain
Goalkeeper
Kasper Schmeichel – 7: Had to make just two saves today but should have done a lot better for the goals he conceded. Decent game overall, but stopping one of the goals would have seen them get a point in the match.
Defenders
Alexander Bah – 7: Rock solid display at the back and it was a treat to watch him against Marc Cucurella in attack. The two were at each other and dominated the flank at every chance.
Joachim Andersen – 7: Had a decent match but a heated moment with Morata at the end of the match saw him get booked. He will now miss the match on Monday along with Hojbjerg.
Jannik Vestergaard – 5.5: Sloppy and slow today and just not good enough. Won all his duels but should have done better in marking his players.
Victor Kristiansen – 6.5: The full-back was more involved in attack than defence today. Should have done more in helping the attackers, but failed to get any of his crosses to his players.
Midfielders
Pierre-Emile Højbjerg – 6: Got booked for a silly foul on Marc Casadó, and he will now miss the match on Monday. He should have done a lot better today with his decision-making, as it looked sloppy at times.
Christian Nørgaard – 6: His passing was good but was letting the Spanish players ease past him. Was hooked off in the 60th minute as they needed more control.
Morten Hjulmand – 7.5: Brilliant from start to end, and his tackle at the very end of the match could prove to be crucial. He stopped Spain from making it 3-1 in injury time and it could
Christian Eriksen – 7: The Manchester United star was brilliant once again but just did not get the support needed. He was creating chances, but the forwards were hardly getting into the right areas.
Albert Grønbæk – 6: Played just 60 minutes and was never involved in the game. Managed just one shot and it was blocked with ease.
Forward
Rasmus Højlund – 6: Anonymous in the game and never managed to get into the areas he was needed. Failed to get a single shot away and was isolated from his teammates.

Spain player ratings vs Denmark
Goalkeeper
David Raya – 7: Was doing well in the match but just could not act quickly enough for the goal. He should have cleared the ball, but instead, he tried to be cheeky, and that saw Denmark get a goal back.
Defenders
Pedro Porro – 8: Yet another performance from Porro to show that Spain will not miss Dani Carvajal. He might just make Real Madrid think if they should sign him and not Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer.
Daniel Vivian – 6.5: Did well today but looked shaky in a lot of situations. He was not able to dominate the Denmark forwards like Laporte did.
Aymeric Laporte – 8: Calm and composed at the back and never looked out of position. He is a target for Real Madrid and they might just go for it after today’s performance.
Marc Cucurella – 9: Gary Neville called him the weak link of the Spain team earlier this year, but he has shown time and again that he is far from it. The Chelsea man was solid once again, and it feels like very few players would want to face him in this form.
Midfielders
Martín Zubimendi – 7.5: Solid performance in the midfield once again and he is showing why he is rated highly. Liverpool and Manchester City are keen on signing him and his demand would have increased after today’s match.
Mikel Merino – 7: Never made any significant impact in the game despite playing for the majority of it.
Mikel Oyarzabal – 7.5: Scored with his only shot in the match and that was enough for them to take control of the match. He picked up a yellow for kicking the ball away in the second half and will not miss the next match.
Dani Olmo – 7.5: Played just over an hour and managed to do well once again. He was always looking to start attacks and his brilliant pass saw Spain score the second goal.
Alejandro Baena – 7: An unfortunate injury forced him off today but he was brilliant until then. He was in tears as he left the pitch and the injury might see him sit out for a few weeks.
Forward
Ayoze Pérez – 8: He excellently timed his run behind the defence of Denmark, and that saw him score the second goal of the match. Had a great chance to make it 3-0 but his shot was rather poor.
