A sensational Everton display earned them all three points against the depleted, struggling Tottenham side, thanks to goals from Calvert Lewin, Ndiaye, and an own goal from Archie Gray for the hosts. This result provisionally puts Everton four points above the dropzone while another terrible result from Tottenham, with no league wins since the last six games and just one win in the last ten games.
Both sides made two changes to their starting eleven. Everytime when Everton got the ball, wherever they are on the pitch – they looked like scoring a goal. The hosts took the lead within the quarter hour of the game when Idrissa Gueye neatly slipped the ball into Calvert Lewin, who tucked the ball in with a tidy finish, ending his 16-match goal-less run in the Premier League. Tottenham tried to pull one back when Son with time at his disposal tried to finish it but unfortunately hit it straight to the keeper. Everton did not wait long to double the lead, a goal of outstanding individual quality from Ndiaye who found it very easy to beat the Spurs’ defence. Things took an ugly turn when the hosts scored a third goal, as Archie Gray can only divert a header across the box from Tarkowski into his own net.
While Everton continued to pile on the pressure, a sigh of relief came for Tottenham when the ball ricocheted towards Kulusevski who calmly chipped it into the goal. The game looked all set to be done when Richarlison bundled the ball into the back of the net, after a fantastic cross from Moore finding him at the right spot. While Tottenham looked to find the equaliser in the minimum time remaining, the hosts ensured to get all three points.
