Liverpool 2-0 Real Madrid: Player Ratings as Gakpo and Mac Allister score in a simple win for the Reds on home soil

Liverpool hosted Real Madrid at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, November 27 and secured a comfortable 2-0 win against their rivals.

The first half was a relatively cagey affair between the two teams. Liverpool squad dominated possession and created several chances but could not convert them, while Real Madrid lacked creativity in the final third altogether. The visitors were unable to impose themselves as the teams were tied at 0-0.

Alexis Mac Allister put the Reds 1-0 up seven minutes after the restart with a cool finish, but Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty shortly after. Mohamed Salah then missed a spot-kick at the other end, but substitute Cody Gakpo scored a header to seal the 2-0 win.
