Manchester United wreaked havoc on Everton after producing a 4-0 win in the Premier League, with the Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim opening his account in the league. Coming off an encouraging victory against Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League, the Red Devils looked comfortable from the very beginning, breaking the deadlock in the 34th minute after Marcus Rashford’s strike was turned into his own net by Jarrad Branthwaite. The Toffees were further pegged back after yet another defensive lapse from Branthwaite leading to United’s second, with Joshua Zirkzee the scorer this time.
More misery awaited the Toffees in the second half, as the Red Devils punished the visitors’ defensive blunders with two more goals from Rashford and Zirkzee. After drawing the previous game against Ipswich Town, Amorim secured his first league win at Old Trafford, with his tactics enabling Man Utd to fire on all cylinders.
