Young Boys vs Inter Milan Player Ratings: Inter secures slender win over Young Boys

On match day three, Serie A outfit Inter Milan walked out as the winners in the UEFA Champions League clash against Young Boys of Switzerland with a 1-0 scoreline at Stadion Wankdorf. It was an end-to-end game with both teams looking threatening with their attacks and ultimately single goal separated the two teams.

The hosts suffered their three consecutive defeats following a late goal heartbreak. Meanwhile, the visitors picked up their second win in the tournament with a draw in three games. Two substitutes, Marcus Thuram and Federico Dimarco combined to break the deadlock in injury time to secure a late win in Switzerland.

The attacking midfielder lacked creativity in his game as he could not produce any significant chance for his side playing in the number ten role.

Another standout name for the Swiss side, Monterio caused all sorts of problems for the opposition with his creativity, dribbling, crossing, and passing and attempted five shots including the golden chance when his shot hit the post missing by an inch-close margin.

Dumfries was everywhere on the pitch from putting in crosses to charging down the flanks, and produced a couple of chances and had as many shots and won the penalty for Nerazzurri.

He had a fair game as the midfielder but no significant contributions from his boots.

Nicolo Barella (7/10)

He was a commanding figure in midfield for Nerazzurri wearing the captain’s armband he played 13 final third passes and was superb with his workrate. Though nearly gave away a goal after losing possession.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (6.5/10)

He disseminated some accurate passes and attempted a few shots on goal as well.

Carlos Augusto (/10)

Had a fair game until pulling his hamstring during the second half forced him to return to the bench making way for Dimarco on the left flank.

In Lautaro Matinez’s absence, he stepped up to take the penalty but missed it from the spot as he could not beat the Young boys’ custodian.

He played well in leading the attack and created a huge chance for his side to play a cheeky pass to Bisseck in the first half.
