A Harry Kane injury saw the English striker being substituted off for Bayern Munich in their last Bundesliga contest against Darmstadt raising concerns regarding his availability for the England squad in the international break.

Harry Kane Injury: Bayern’s talisman sustains ankle injury

Harry Kane has been in exceptional form this season as he attempts to lead Bayern Munich to Bundesliga and UCL glory in his first season in Germany. The striker has accumulated an impressive 37 goals and 10 assists for the reigning Bundesliga Champions across all competitions. However, in Bayern’s last match before the international break, a Harry Kane injury rocked the German club.

Speaking to the media, Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed that striker Harry Kane had sustained an ankle injury in Bayern’s 5-2 victory against Darmstadt. The Harry Kane injury forced Tuchel to sub Kane off in the 82nd minute. The ankle injury sent alarm bells through the England camp as they prepare to participate in the international break ahead of the Euro 2024 in Germany later this year. However, it seems that an update has been provided regarding Harry Kane’s participation for England in the international break. 

Harry Kane injury: Will the striker play for England in the international break?

The Three Lions are scheduled to play Brazil and Belgium in the international break. Harry Kane is undoubtedly one of the most important pieces in England’s side ahead of Euro 2024. Gareth Southgate will be eager to have the English skipper in the side as he attempts to find the best squad to take to Germany for the Euros. While the Harry Kane injury initially seemed to worry the English camp now it seems that Harry Kane will report for international duty at St.George’s Park on Tuesday despite the ankle injury.

Speaking on the matter, Bayern Munich’s sporting director Christoph Freund said, “ He will be looked at in England. He has trusted doctors there. We are in close coordination on this. Harry won’t take any risks.” While it remains uncertain whether Harry Kane will start for England or play at all in the international break, his willingness to join the English camp suggests that the injury isn’t serious. If the injury heals in time it is likely that Kane will participate in the second international break tie against Belgium.

Harry Kane will certainly return for Bayern post the break as he and Bayern attempt to win the Bundesliga. The ex-Tottenham man will also be eager to play former London rival Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for Bayern Munich.
