Born on 26 February 2003 to a Nigerian-British Yoruba father and a German mother with Polish roots, Musiala spent most of his childhood in Fulda until the age of seven before shifting to England with his family, where he spent the remaining days. Musiala’s primary education was at Corpus Christi School in New Malden, during which he was introduced to football and began playing for local clubs, such as Fulham, Brentford, and Wimbledon. He represented the Wimbledon colors in the EFL Utilita Kids Cup, winning the competition twice. 2019–20: Debut Season
Jamal Musiala joined German giants Bayern Munich at the age of 16. He came on as a substitute for Bayern Munich II in a 3–2 win over Preußen Münster in 3. Liga. However, his senior debut came quickly on 20 June 2020 against SC Freiburg, becoming the youngest player to appear for Bayern in the Bundesliga at 17 years and 115 days.
2020–21: First-Team Breakthrough
In an 8–0 victory over Schalke, Musiala scored his first Bundesliga goal, becoming Bayern’s youngest goalscorer at just 17. Later, making his Champions League debut on November 3rd as a substitute then his first Champions League start against Atlético Madrid. Finally, his first Champions League goal came in the Bavarians’ victory over Lazio.
Continuous Development
Musiala started his second season strong, scoring two goals in a 12–0 DFB-Pokal win over Bremer SV. The nurtured talent was slowly showing progress and Musiala ended the season on a high scoring a crucial goal that secured Bayern’s tenth consecutive Bundesliga title.
2022–23: Bundesliga Title Decider
Next season the story brought in more fairytales, while the best one was Musiala’s 89th-minute winner on the final match day to grab clinching Bayern’s 11th consecutive league title on goal difference over rivals Dortmund. Moreover, he finished the season as Bayern’s second-best scorer in the league with 12 goals.
2023–24 Season
The following season, Musiala began to dominate his role in the spotlight, scoring 13 goals in all competitions, including 10 in the Bundesliga, and ended the campaign as Bayern’s second-highest scorer for another consecutive year, behind the illustrious striker Harry Kane.

International Career
Youth
Musiala was eligible to play for Nigeria but represented both England and Germany at youth levels. His first call-up for the England squad was in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification matches in September 2020. However, he debuted only as a substitute in a 3–1 win over Andorra U21 and scored his first U21 goal in a 5–0 victory over Albania. Initially sided with England, Musiala indicated feeling more comfortable with the English youth teams in his early youth days
Senior
The big announcement came on February 2021as Musiala decided to represent Germany at the international level. He received his first call-up to the senior team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2021 and debuted on March 25th, 2021 as a substitute in a 3–0 win against Iceland.
Euro 2020
Things were just falling in place as Musiala was selected for Germany’s Euro 2020 squad becoming the youngest German player to participate in a major tournament, assisting Leon Goretzka’s equalizer in a 2–2 draw with Hungary, in a tournament that did not go as planned.
2022 World Cup Qualification
Musiala became the second-youngest scorer for Germany at 18 years and 227 days after finding the back of the net on October 2021 in a 4–0 win over North Macedonia.
2022 World Cup
In the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, against Japan, he became the first German teenager to play in the tournament since 1958. Despite all efforts, Germany was eliminated in the group stage.
Euro 2024
Musiala was named in Germany’s squad for UEFA Euro 2024 and he was awarded Player of the Match in the opening game against Scotland, where he scored in a 5–1 victory, becoming the second youngest German to score in the tournament.
