Benzema to PSG

PSG Explores Loan Deal for Al-Ittihad’s Karim Benzema

PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has recently delved into the prospect of acquiring Karim Benzema from Al-Ittihad during the January transfer window, according to sources from the Sports Zone.

The 36-year-old striker’s status in Saudi Arabia has been under scrutiny, as he faces criticism from both media outlets and Al-Ittihad fans, who have given him the nickname “kitty,” as reported by RMC Sport.

Despite Al-Khelaifi’s interest, Foot Mercato suggests that Benzema is unlikely to depart from the Gulf State any time soon. The PSG president had explored the possibility of securing the former Real Madrid forward on a six-month loan deal for the Parc des Princes. However, sporting consultant Luís Campos remains sceptical of the move, as revealed by Sports Zone.

Currently, it seems improbable that Paris Saint-Germain will actively pursue Benzema’s signing in the immediate future. The club’s primary focus lies elsewhere, particularly in reinforcing the team’s defense after Milan Skriniar’s potentially season-ending injury. Additionally, Campos expresses a desire to strengthen the midfield.

While the consideration of bringing Benzema to PSG has been contemplated by the club’s top decision-makers, the prevailing sentiment suggests that the former Olympique Lyonnais striker is unlikely to make a move to the Parc des Princes in the ongoing January transfer window.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s exploration of a six-month loan deal for Karim Benzema faces hurdles, with PSG prioritizing defensive and midfield reinforcements. The scepticism from consultant Luis Campos further dampens the likelihood of Benzema’s arrival at the club this month.
