Manchester City superstar linked with Saudi Pro League move

According to Football Insider, Saudi Arabian clubs have made Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne one of their priority signings for the summer.

De Bruyne is widely regarded as one of the best Premier League midfielders of all time. He has registered 96 goals and 154 assists in 359 games for Manchester City across competitions. He has won five Premier League and one UEFA Champions League, among other honors.

However, De Bruyne turns 33 in June and is perhaps moving towards the twilight of his career. This could see him assess his options and Saudi Arabia are keen to bring him to the country.

PIF have held a firm interest in the Belgian since last summer but his long-term injury cooled off the same. He has now returned to action but is expected to stay put at Manchester City in January. Saudi Arabian clubs are then keen on making a move for De Bruyne in the summer.

The Belgian could join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kante in the Saudi Pro League. Moreover, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has also been linked with a move to the SPL in the summer.

De Bruyne missed most of the ongoing season due to a hamstring injury and has only featured thrice across competitions for Manchester City. As per Football Insider, Saudi Arabia’s interest in the midfielder will also depend on his performances for the remainder of the season after the injury.
