Manchester United are going big and busy this transfer window as the club has spent immensely to sign star defenders and fresh strikers. Early this transfer window, the Red Devils spent 62 million Euros to secure Leny Yoro from Lille, recently they spent the same amount to sign Bayern’s defensive duo – Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
The club also spent over 40 million to lure in Joshua Zirkzee. Now, when the transfer window is about to end, it’s still not over for United. Recently, in a talk with Sky Sports, Erik ten Hag shared the club’s plan for the remainder of the window.
The Dutch clearly stated that Manchester United are still going to sign some players to make the squad stronger. He said that the club won’t “stand still”. And, when being asked about the positions the club wishes to sign players in, he said that it would depend on “what happens in the market”.
The statement reflects that Hag is looking to improve in multiple positions, but he further clarified that he is happy with the squad and “quite confident” for the season ahead. However, multiple reports throughout this transfer window have claimed that Manchester United are trying to sign PSG’s Manuel Ugarte and it is speculated from Hag’s statements that Man Utd would still like to target him.
However, as per Goal, Manchester United are also willing to sign a left-back. The club suffered setbacks following the injuries of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. A quality left-back might also be approached in a quick-time, with the transfer window to shut in a few days. The Red Devils are going strong in this window, after a not-so-good 2023-24. It is expected that Ten Hag would be desperate to reinforce the midfield after done deals in defense and attacks.
