As the January transfer window looms, Arsenal are reportedly setting its sights on reinforcing its midfield, with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi emerging as a potential target.

According to information from football.london, Arsenal have been monitoring Zubimendi closely and is aware of a release clause in the midfielder’s contract, estimated at £52 million.

However, one crucial condition stands in the way – Zubimendi’s willingness to agree to the move. The midfielder has expressed hesitancy in the past, pledging his allegiance to Real Sociedad earlier this year in statements to Spanish outlet Sport.

Zubimendi stated,

“Leaving Real Sociedad aside with the season we are having would be illogical. Here I am very happy,”

In another interview, he reiterated his commitment, stating,

“I have never planned to leave Real Sociedad. I love life here, at home, I’m so happy here. The values of this club are the same as mine, so I feel very good. I always said that I’m happy.”

As the transfer window approaches, Arsenal’s pursuit of Martin Zubimendi hinges on the player’s stance and willingness to make a move away from Real Sociedad. The £52 million release clause remains a key factor in the potential transfer.
