In a potential summer shake-up, Manchester United are reportedly in discussions for a move to secure Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. The proposed deal could involve the return of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Selhurst Park, as per ESPN.
Michael Olise, 22, inked a four-year deal with Crystal Palace last August after rejecting a transfer to Chelsea. However, as part of the club’s rebuilding plans, the France under-21 international is expected to be available for departure this summer.
While Liverpool and Chelsea have also expressed interest in Olise, Manchester United‘s willingness to include Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the deal might sway Palace’s decision. Wan-Bissaka, initially transferred to United in 2019 for £50 million ($64 million), could be returning to his former club.
United recently triggered a 12-month contract extension for Wan-Bissaka, preventing him from becoming a free agent this summer. However, sources suggest that this move was strategically made to facilitate the defender’s departure and generate funds for the club.

Notably, United’s interest in Olise has encountered internal skepticism at Old Trafford. Some members of the recruitment team have reservations, citing previous challenges faced by Wan-Bissaka and Wilfried Zaha in transitioning from Palace to the more demanding environment of Manchester United.
Despite the uncertainties, United are keen to bolster their attacking options, considering Olise as a leading target. With Antony struggling to make an impact since his £85 million move from Ajax in 2022, and young talents Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri yet to solidify their credentials, the Red Devils are eyeing reinforcements in the attacking department come summer.
