Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has given an update about three injured players Lisandro Martinez, Anthony Martial, and Luke Shaw. Speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference prior to the Burnley game, The Dutch gaffer ensured that those players would return before the season ends.
Martinez, Martial, and Shaw have spent most of the time this season off the pitch. The Argentinian defender has been dealing with multiple injuries in his calf, knee and foot. Martial has a groyne injury and fitness issue while Shaw has problem with his muscle.
“Yes, I think so,” he said when asked about those players. “I think we are all going to see them [again] in this season.
“They returned, all three onto the pitch. Next week, they have to make a step into team training and we think they can be available for the last weeks [of the season]. They are progressing well.”
Manchester United Injury Update: Mason Mount could return against Burnley
On their latest action against Sheffield United in Premier League’s midweek fixture, United were without Martinez, Martial, Shaw, Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford, Jonny Evans, Willy Kambwala, Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, and Raphael Varane.
Ten Hag confirmed that only Mount could join the squad this weekend. “It’s the same squad but Mason Mount, he will return to the squad,” Ten Hag said.
