Ange Postecoglou gives verdict on VAR after Tottenham’s loss to Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou isn’t impressed with the VAR after his Tottenham side lost to Arsenal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs had an opportunity to level the score when Micky van de Ven scored 10 minutes after conceding. Later on, the goal was disallowed due to offside.

Postecoglou admitted that he is having a trust issue as such scenarios keep happening in football. The former Celtic manager criticised the application of VAR, emphasising that he is not a big fan of technology.

“The game is refereed somewhere else, not the stadium,” Postecoglou said after the game via TNT Sports. “It is why I don’t celebrate goals anymore, it’s a shame, I don’t like it, but I’ve got to accept it like everyone else.”

“It’s a disappointing outcome for us, it’s a big day for the club, big day for the fans. We didn’t get the outcome we wanted so that was a very disappointing day.”

The Lilywhites dominated the ball possession with 62.1 percent compared to the visitors but still could not get the result they desired. Spurs forward Son Heung-min couldn’t hide his disappointment after the game.

“It is very tough to take it because the way we played I think it was really good with dominating the game and considering three goals like this is painful,” said the Korean.
