He started his football career at the youth system of Stabæk’s at the age of 13 and soon became one the most exciting Norway talents.
Later, Club Brugge signed the player and developed their talent, expanding his insights into the game further.
In 2024, Nusa moved to one of the famous European leagues Bundesliga, donning the RB Leipzig colours.
Full name: Antonio Eromonsele Nordby Nusa
Date of birth April 2005 (age 19)
Place of birth: Langhus, Norway
Height 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in)
Position(s): Winger, attacking midfielder
Early life
Born in 2005, in Langhus, Oslo to a Nigerian father and Norwegian mother. He spent his growing days in Nordre Follo a municipality in Viking. Nusa benefited from the town, due to its developed facilities and amenities that could support recreational activities for the kids. This atmosphere fueled his early liking of the game.
In a primary school tournament, the modest child turned into a star by being pivotal in the victory over their rivals. Despite being the creator of all the goals, he walked out of the spotlight for not scoring. This moment zoomed in on his great assisting skills which developed with him as he grew older turning the infamous boy into a special personality.
Norway’s largest-selling newspaper, Aftenposten covered a prophesy about Nusa long before his famous days. Inter Milan and Romanian legend Christian Chivu made the prophecy after watching his game in the youth team saying “ Nusa your future in football will weave a legacy beyond Norway”
Stabæk
At the age of 13, the Nusa moved to Stabæk from Langhus. Coached under Gaute Larsen who previously managed Bryne FK and developed Haaland’s rise before Solskjaer. In the early years, Gaute refused to compare Haaland and Nusa due to their playing style which described their mid-teenage years better, where he shared the verdict:
“ When you close your eyes and look back to when both were 14-15 years old. I feel Antonio was a great talent.
I would have not said that earlier, because I didn’t want to put pressure on the him as a young man, but there is something extreme about him”
To date, Gaute still sees Haaland as a better-developed player, who has built physical prowess to his extraordinary goalscoring flair. Larson also at Haaland with a similar point of view added to his raw talent. Moreover, Gaute considers himself lucky to have trained both players and watch them grow in different paths.
Club Brugge
The start of a new journey saw Nusa become the first player born in 2005 to score on his UEFA Champions League debut. He became the second youngest scorer behind contemporaries Ansu Fati. That performance and goal against Porto in 2020 showcased the then-17-year-old’s capabilities in the field.
Later in the year 2022, after achieving a Champions League breakthrough, the Norwegian went on to lift the Belgian Championship and Supercup. 2021/22 was his first senior year as a player where he showed the Belgian side his world-class skills, along with his goalscoring and assist-making consistency.
