Arsenal Contemplate Loan Move for Tomiyasu as January Transfer Window Nears

In the pursuit of strengthening their squad for a potential Premier League title bid, Arsenal are reportedly considering allowing Takehiro Tomiyasu to leave on loan in the upcoming January transfer window. The Gunners, currently sitting in second place in the Premier League, are eager to reinforce their team with additions in defense, midfield, and attack.

Manager Mikel Arteta is keen on bolstering his squad with a defender, midfielder, and striker during the winter transfer window, which inevitably necessitates offloading some existing players. According to reports from Italian outlet Il Mattino, Napoli have expressed interest in securing the services of full-back Tomiyasu on a loan deal.

While the Japanese defender has become an integral part of Arteta’s plans, a recent calf injury has sidelined him, potentially opening the door for a temporary move. Napoli are not only eyeing Tomiyasu but also considering a move for Jakub Kiwior. However, Arsenal appears less inclined to sanction a loan deal for Kiwior and are reportedly open to a permanent transfer for the 23-year-old midfielder.

Kiwior, who joined Arsenal in January 2022, has seen limited playing time, making only 21 appearances for the club. In contrast, Tomiyasu has been a regular feature, making 19 appearances in the current season before his injury setback.
