Arsenal vs Brighton Player Ratings: The Gunners shared spoils with Seagulls at Home 

Ten men, Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw at the hands of Brighton following the controversial dismissal of Declan Rice due to a second yellow card at the Emirates Stadium in the Matchweek 3rd opener of the Premier League 2024-25 season. On their North London trip, Joao Pedro’s equaliser in the second half salvaged a point for the visitors cancelling out Kai Havatrez’s beautiful finish from the early half.

Goalkeeper

David Raya (7.9/10): Another commendable performance by the Spaniard did well against Brighton’s wave of attack.

Defenders

Ben White (7.2/10): A solid display from the Englishman at the Right side of defence.

William Saliba (7.2/10): As usual a commanding performance in the backline.

Gabriel Magalhães (6.9/10): Had a decent outing overall except for that one instance when Brighton levelled the score.

Jurrien Timber (6.6/10): An impressive play on the left side but needs to improve and gel up with the squad.

Midfielders

Martin Ødegaard (6.4/10): A quiet afternoon for the Skipper, following a knock in the first half, yet showed a glimpse of his excellence.

Thomas Partey (6.9/10): A satisfactory outing in the midfield, picked a yellow card though struggled against Brighton’s Joao Pedro

Declan Rice (5.2/10): failed to mark any significant impact, got booked twice resulting in a Red card sent off, A day to forget for Rice.

Forwards

Leandro Trossard (6.7/10): Belgian struggled left-wing lacking chemistry and eventually sacrificed to bring in a defender after losing Rice.

Kai Havaretz (7.9/10): A reliable figure in front of the goal scored with a fancy finish lobbing over Brighton’s keeper.

Bukayo Saka (8/10): Looked lively on the right flank, posed a constant threat and provided an assist coupled with an excellent work rate.

Substitutes

Riccardo Calafiori (6.2/10): Impressive cameo in defence prevented the visitors from scoring a second.

Gabriel Martinelli (6/10): Brazilian looked off, still looking to regain his form.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (6/10): Came on to replace Timber in the final moments.

Goalkeeper

Bart Verbruggen (7.9/10): A rock-solid display in goal denied Arsenal on multiple occasions with brilliant saves.

Defenders

Joël Veltman (6/10): Played well as Right back and kept Trossard quiet, also made some vital blocks

Jan Paul van Hecke (7.3/10): teamed up well with the Dunk delivering an impressive outing.

Lewis Dunk (7.5/10): Stood firm in front of the goal against attacking opposition.

Jack Hinshelwood (6/10): Outpaced by the Saka on the left flank but eventually managed to settle in-game.

Midfielders

James Milner (5.5/10): An injury early in the game forced the Veteran to leave the pitch in the 16th minute.

Carlos Noom Quomah Baleba (7/10): Cameroonian midfielder put in a decent shift as a pivot for Seagulls.

Yankuba Minteh (7/10): started well displaying an attacking nature on the right however, failed to make any major impact.

João Pedro (8/10): A standout performer for the visitors scored the equaliser and played a key role in attacks.

Kaoru Mitoma (7/10): Japan International had a fair outing, though it struggled to break into Arsenal’s defence.

Forwards

Danny Welbeck (5.5/10): A poor performance as compared to his game against Man United, didn’t have much to do in the match.

Substitutes

Yasin Ayari (6.8/10): performed well after coming on to replace Milner

Pervis Estupinán (6.2/10): A brief but impactful cameo as left-back

Georginio Rutter (5.8/10): Replaced Yakuba Mintah in 72 minutes, needs to improve.
