Arsenal vs Luton Town Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips| Premier League

Arsenal vs Luton Town Preview:

  • Date: 3 April, Wednesday
  • Kick-off Time: 6:30 PM (GMT)
  • Stadium: Emirates Stadium

Two sides on the other sides of the spectrum meet in the Premier League on matchday 31 as Arsenal host Luton Town at the Emirates stadium. The Gunners are two points behind table toppers Liverpool as they lost their advantage over the weekend after a 0-0 draw against Man City. Mikel Arteta won’t be too worried after the goalless draw however as his team has been in sensational form in the last few weeks and haven’t lost a game in the Premier League since the turn of the year. Now, an opportunity to return to winning ways offers itself to Arsenal as they take on an ailing Luton Town.

Squirming in 18th place and attempting to escape the relegation zone are Luton Town. Last week the Hatters were enjoying the comfort of safety, but after losing 2-1 to Tottenham and Forest managing to secure a draw against Crystal Palace, Luton finds itself yet again fighting for survival. While the club has played good football all season long, it hasn’t managed to sustain its performance over the course of the entire game and have been often punished for it. Their ability to push big teams on the backfoot has made an interesting watch all season and with the Hatters desperate to secure safety, they might show up with all their might against Arsenal.

The Gunners have enjoyed an amazing campaign till now and have really turned the screws since the turn of the year. In their nine Premier League battles in 2024, the Gunners have scored an astounding 33 goals while conceding a meager 4. A lot of the Gunner’s recent success can be attributed to Mikel Arteta’s perseverance and also the return of several key injured players from injury. In fact, the Arsenal vs Luton Town tie will see Arsenal host the Hatters with a fully fit squad. The only exclusion continues to be Jurrien Timber who is still recovering from the knee injury he sustained in August last year.

Luton Town:

While Arsenal enjoy the comfort of a fully stacked squad, Luton Town will travel with nearly half of their squad in the injury ward. The Hatters have struggled with injuries in the second half of the season and once again will enter a battle without many key figures.

Luton’s problems began back in December when captain and central defender Tom Lockyer suffered a shocking cardiac arrest on the pitch ruling him out from the sport for a long long time. Since then, Luton have also lost Mads Juel Anderson, Gabriel Osho, Amari’i Bell, Daniel Potts and Joseph Johnson in defense. While Osho and Anderon were expected to return to the squad for Luton’s visit to Tottenham, the duo weren’t even part of the squad list. It is unknown whether they will return for the Arsenal game, but it seems unlikely.

Luton’s misery continues in the midfield as they will continue to be without the services of Marvelous Nakamba and Jacob Brown. While their return is considered to be imminent, they will not participate in Luton’s trip to Arsenal. Albert Sambi Lokonga will also remain absent in Luton’s midfield as the club continues to be parched of depth in the position.

Like last week, the biggest miss will be Elijah Adebayo. Luton’s highest scorer this season sustained a thigh injury earlier this year and will remain by the sidelines till at least May.

Adding salt to an already open wound is also the injury of Chiedozie Ogbene whose recent hamstring injury will sideline him as well.

Arsenal vs Luton Town Prediction:

Not only are the two sides on the two ends of the spectrum, but both sides enter the game in opposite forms as well. While Arsenal have been in sensational form in the last few months, Luton have struggled to win games due to their long injury list. The game might turn out to be a goal fest given Arsenal’s attacking prowess and Luton Town’s goal-scoring ability against big sides in the Premier League. On paper, Arsenal are way too strong for Luton.

Predicted Score: Arsenal 3-1 Luton Town
