Former Barcelona Cheif had something to say about Neymar not winning the Ballon d’Or till now

Brazil international Neymar Jr. is regarded as one of the best football players of this generation. The forward has played for clubs like FC Barcelona, and PSG at the highest level and had an illustrious amount of goals and assists to his name. However, the prestigious honor of Ballon d’Or has eluded him so far in his career. On the other hand, his closest competitors like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have won the honor multiple times.

Recently former Barcelona Chief Javier Bordas had something to say regarding the real conundrum of why Neymar hasn’t been able to win the Ballon d’Or till now. In a one-to-one with Essentially Sports, the 63-year-old expressively stated –

“If he had wanted, he would fight for the Ballon d’Or against Messi, Cristiano, and whoever, but he lives his life in a different way. He does not live for football 100 percent.”. Javier Bordas further asserted – “I love him very much. I have written to him quite a bit now, during his injury. At first, I expected someone arrogant, and I was wrong”.

Neymar currently plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal and there are expectations that he will represent Brazil in the FIFA World Cup 2026.
