Will Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz sign for Real Madrid?

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in making a move for Florian Wirtz who had a breakthrough campaign with Bayer Leverkusen in the 2023/24 season. Writz won the Bundesliga with Leverkusen and as a result, a lot of elite clubs have shown an interest in the talented 21-year-old attacker.

Will Real Madrid make a move for German attacker Florian Wirtz?

The German youngster joined Leverkusen in the winter of 2020 from FC Koln and has gone from strength to strength for the Bundesliga giants over the past few years.

Writz has been instrumental in Leverkusen’s success in the 2023/24 campaign and has seen his stock skyrocket since winning the Bundesliga campaign for the first time in the club’s history. The German has gone leaps and bounds over the past two seasons.

Champions League mafias Real Madrid have kept a close eye on the German attacker but will unlikely launch an offer in the upcoming summer window. The Merengues are plotting a move for the 21-year-old superstar in the 2025 transfer window.

Real Madrid’s interest in Writz is quite understandable, considering Toni Kroos has announced his retirement following the European championships and Luka Modric could potentially depart in 2025.

Leverkusen have reportedly slapped a mind-boggling price tag of €150 million on Florian Writz whose contract with the club expires in the summer of 2027. Several other elite European clubs will be gunning for Writz’s signature, and the competition for him will be intense.

Xabi Alonso, who led Leverkusen to a European record of 51 games unbeaten in all competitions is also a major target for the 14-time Champions League winners.
