Bournemouth vs Leicester City Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips

Bournemouth vs Leicester City Preview

Bournemouth FC host Leicester City at the Vitality Stadium on Tuesday in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The Cherries come into the fixture on the back of five winless matches, all coming in the Premier League. Andoni Iraola’s side seems to have lost steam in recent weeks following a brief upturn in form during the months of November and December.

In the cup games, though, the Dorset outfit have shown real quality. Fighting back from a two-goal deficit, Bournemouth pulled off an epic 3-2 comeback victory against Queens Park Rangers in the third round. This was followed by a crushing 5-0 win over Swansea City in the next stage.

Meanwhile, Leicester City have also seen their momentum punctured. After winning five in a row, and going six unbeaten, the Foxes have lost their most recent two outings. Middlesbrough ended those runs with a 2-1 win at the King Power Stadium in the EFL Championship before Leeds United condemned the side to a 3-1 loss in the next game. Yet, the former Premier League champions remain at the top of the league table with 78 points from 34 games, six clear of any other side. Their ambitions of an immediate top-flight return are still intact, while also impressing in the cup too.

Leicester beat Millwall 3-2 in a nervy encounter in their third-round clash before ousting Birmingham City 3-0 in the next stage.

Last 5 games results:-

Leicester City 0-1 Bournemouth (Premier League, April 2023)

Bournemouth 2-1 Leicester City (Premier League, October 2022)

Bournemouth 4-1 Leicester City (Premier League, July 2020)

Leicester City 3-1 Bournemouth (Premier League, August 2019)

Leicester City 2-0 Bournemouth (Premier League, March 2019)

After beating Bournemouth twice in a row, Leicester City have lost their next three encounters with the side. The Fixes have lost each of their last three visits to the Vitality Stadium, conceding 10 goals, and haven’t won there in their last six games. Leicester’s last away win against Bournemouth came in February 2014, when both teams were competing in the EFL Championship.

Bournemouth vs Leicester City Prediction

Bournemouth have a surprisingly good record to Leicester City, the 2014-15 Premier League champions, despite their stature. The Cherries have beaten the Foxes in their last three clashes at home and will look back upon those games for inspiration here as their current form doesn’t hold them in good stead. Leicester are also coming off the back of consecutive defeats, so this one’s hard to predict. It might as well end in a draw, with all to play for in a replay.

Predicted Score: Bournemouth 2-2 Leicester City
