Bournemouth vs Chelsea Player Ratings

Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea Player Ratings as Nkunku’s late winner helps the blues secure three points

Chelsea secured their second win in the Premier League at the Vitality stadium despite being the second-best in the game. Christopher Nkunku came up with a late goal in the 86th minute to upgrade the draw into a win as they went back to Stamford Bridge. Bournemouth had missed a first-half penalty which is why they have resulted in such fate as Chelsea was exploited by them but missed the clinical finish in the final third.

The Cherries rattled the crossbar just over four minutes into the game with Marcus Tavernier’s outstanding 25-yard strike crashed the woodwork. In the 36th minute, they got a chance as Evanilson capitalised on a terrible pass by Wesley Fofana to only beat Sanchez but was brought down by the goalkeeper leading to a penalty but the Spaniard stood tall in that battle.

It was Chelsea who had the last laugh despite not playing that well. Let’s have a look at Bournemouth vs Chelsea Player Ratings.

Goalkeeper

Mark Travers: 6.8/10- The backup keeper got a rare start due to Kepa’s unavailability to play against his parent club. He acted as a spectator for most of the parts of the game making just two saves.

Defenders

Adam Smith: 7/10- The captain of the cherries had somewhat a fair game. He completely shut down Neto but was unable to cope up with former Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho, who was very much lively in that flank.

Marcos Senesi: 6.2/10- Had an average game at the heart of defense and was unable to win any of the aerial duels in the match. He was inferior as compared to the technical ability of Christopher Nkunku. He also looked to spread the play with his superb passing range.

Illia Zabarnyi: 6.9/10- The Ukranian Centre-back had the least of the touches in the whole match. He gave too much space to Chelsea Striker Nicolas Jackson before being dominated by former Leipzig attacker, Christopher Nkunku.

Miloa Kerkez: 7.3/10- The Hungarian defender had a fair game from the left side of the defence as he was also very much active in the offensive third. He was able to very much engage and pin down Madueke in his own half.

Midfielders

Lewis Cook: 6.7/10- The English midfielder controlled the midfield for the cherries. He was also attempting multiple shots from outside the box, out of which one made Sanchez work. He was also fortunate to not get sent off through a second yellow card despite a lack of discipline.

Ryan Christie: 7.2/10- His shot inside the penalty box was blocked by the Chelsea defenders. He was seen trying lavish passes rather than keeping it simple and was involved in harrying a Chelsea player out of possession.

Marcus Tavernier: 7.4/10- In total, he had two shots in the game and hit the woodwork once. The match could have been different if his strikes had been a few inches lower. He tried to catch Sanchez with overhit crosses but failed.

Justin Kluivert: 7.0/10- He had a couple of clear opportunities to give his team the lead but was saved by Sanchez. Similarly, Christie also wanted to be in the final third for his team but still Chelsea found it difficult to control him.

Antonie Semenyo: 6.1/10- The Ghanaian international was the brightest spark for his team on the pitch. He carried himself with the presence and quality of a high-profile star. He won the most number of duels in the game.

Attackers

Evanilson: 6.2/10- He had several opportunities to give his team the lead but failed. He also missed a penalty at the crucial point of the game. If he had scored the penalty the match could have ended at a different juncture.

Substitutions

Alex Scott: 6.3/10- He was substituted in the 68th minute in place of Christie and was able to help the Cherries continue their game.

Luis Sinisterra: 6.1/10- The Colombian Attacker replaced Evanilson in the 68th minute and was active in the final third creating two chances for his team.

Julian Araujo: 6.1/10- Substituted in at the 75th minute for Adam Smith and contributed well in defence.

Philip Billing: N/A.

Enes Unal: N/A.

Goalkeeper

Roberto Sanchez: 9.2/10- The Spanish shot-stopper had a fantastic game of the blue making seven saves, which includes a penalty. He has had a busy evening for his side but stood strong.

Defenders

Alex Dissai: 6.8/10- The French right-back struggled with the pace of Cherries’ attackers and had to often chase back. He was also not very comfortable with the ball.

Wesley Fofana: 7/10- He was booked for a high arm in the first half and was the prime reason why Bournemouth won the penalty. His awful back pass was highjacked in the middle by Evanilson, which ultimately led to the penalty. Despite committing errors he still secured to keep a clean sheet.

Levi Colwill: 7.1/10- He was one of Chelsea’s most promising defenders in the game but was unfortunately booked for a distinguishingly clean tackle. Was strong in the air and had a good distribution.

Marc Cucurella: 6.6/10- He had a good game as he got up and down regularly to help his team in both sides of the pitch. He floated one ball into the box which went begging to be finished but no Chelsea attack could latch on to it.

Midfielders

Moises Caicedo: 7.9/10- He was much required to support Chelsea’s defence and did his job without any questions being raised. He gave an all-action display as he defended well and went forward whenever the team needed him.

Renato Viego: 7.5/10- The Portuguese midfielder tried to completely impose himself on the opposition physically but Bournemouth were clearly ahead in the midfield battle. He got the opportunity due to Enzo Fernandez and Dewsbury-Hall’s illness.

Cole Palmer: 7.4/10- He had a good game as an attacking midfielder for the Blues. He was spotted getting into Evanilson’s ahead of the penalty and was successful as he missed the penalty.

Attackers

Pedro Neto: 6.1/10- The Portuguese winger did not have much of an impact as he barely touched the ball in the first half and was hooked at the break and then replaced by the new signing, Jadon Sancho.

Nicholas Jackson: 6.3/10- He had few clear opportunities to give his team the lead but he failed miserably. He got booked in the second half and probably the fans might be thinking he is not the kind of a striker that the club needs.

Noni Madueke: 6.8/10- The English winger had a good game as most of the Chelsea attacks went from his side of the wing. He started the game brightly but eventually faded out as the match went on.

Substitutions

Jadon Sancho: 7.7/10- Gave the assist to Nkunku’s goal and was booked for dissent. The way he played will definitely look to start the next game in place of Neto.

Joao Felix: 6.0/10- Came on for Madueke at the 62nd minute and was also booked.

Tosin Adarabioyo: 6/10- He came on along with Felix to replace Disasi to see out the game and maintain the clean sheet.

Christopher Nkunku: 7.5/10- He came on at the 79th minute to replace Jackson and scored the winner to give Blues the three points.
