Brazil legend Zico robbed ahead of Paris Olympics

In a recent development coming in, 71-year-old Brazil legend Zico was the victim of a robbery ahead of the Paris Olympics, Le Parisien has confirmed. The news comes just days after the Argentina football team’s training was robbed.

While in a taxi in Paris, the former attacking midfielder was approached by someone who distracted him, allowing another individual to reach into the vehicle and steal his belongings.

Among the stolen items were a suitcase containing a Rolex watch, a diamond necklace, and cash totaling €2,000 and $2,000. The legendary Selecao player reported the theft to the Paris prosecutor’s office, prompting an investigation to locate the thieves.

The ex-Brazil international was in Paris as part of the Brazilian delegation for the Olympic Games. The incident took place on Thursday night, July 25, after he had left his hotel.

Hoping the Parisian police will apprehend the culprits and recover his possessions, Zico remains optimistic.

French authorities have launched an investigation into the matter, led by the Brigade for the Repression of Banditry.

Meanwhile, the former Flamengo star aims to move past the incident and enjoy the Olympic Games.

Zico was one of the greatest footballers to play the sport

Born Arthur Antunes Coimbra on March 3, 1953, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Zico is celebrated as one of the finest footballers in history.

His career, which lasted from the early 1970s to the early 1990s, showcased his remarkable skill, vision, and goal-scoring prowess.

Zico’s professional journey began and largely took place at Flamengo, a highly esteemed Brazilian club.

His time at Flamengo is legendary, highlighted by numerous Campeonato Carioca (Rio de Janeiro State Championship) titles and four Brazilian Serie A championships (1980, 1982, 1983, 1987).
