BREAKING: Mo Salah gives update on his future at Liverpool
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has raised concerns over his future as he enters the final 12 months of his Reds contract. The 32-year-old’s current deal with Liverpool expires next summer and the club have not yet offered a contract extension to the Egyptian international.
Salah scored a goal in Liverpool’s thumping 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening. After the game, Salah said that he treated the game like his last match at Old Trafford.
Salah said: “To be fair I was coming to the game [as if] it could be the last time [playing at Old Trafford]. Nobody in the club has talked to me about contracts. It is not up to me, it is up to the club.”
Talking to Sky Sports, the Egyptian said: “As you know, it’s my last year in the club. I just want to enjoy it, I don’t want to think about it. I feel I’m free to play football and let’s see what’s going to happen next year.”
Last year, Liverpool turned down a £100m for Salah from Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad at the end of the 2023 summer transfer window.
