Brighton vs Arsenal Preview, Prediction and Betting Tips | Premier League

Brighton vs Arsenal Preview

Brighton vs Arsenal will take place in the Premier League at the Amex Stadium on April 6 as the ninth-placed team gears up to host the league leaders.

The hosts will enter this game on the back of a mixed run of form. With two wins, two defeats, and one draw in their last five games across competitions, the Seagulls need to steady their ship to avoid collapsing. In this span, they have scored just three goals and conceded a worrying six. Having lost 2-1 to Liverpool on the weekend, Brighton only managed a goalless draw against Brentford in their last game. They were looking for a better result next time around.

The visitors, on the other hand, enter this game on the back of an assured run of form. They have lost just once in seven games across competitions, winning five and drawing one. In this run, the Gunners have scored 15 goals and conceded just three as they look a formidable defensive unit. They managed an encouraging 0-0 draw at Manchester City, before defeating Luton Town 2-0 in their last game. Having already defeated Brighton earlier this season they were looking to repeat the feat.

With that said, let’s take a look at the team news coming out of both camps.

Brighton vs Arsenal Team News

Manager Roberto De Zerbi will be without a few key players for the game against Arsenal. Long-term absentee Solly March (knee) has been out since October and has missed over 30 games. He is unlikely to return to action anytime soon. Jack Hinshelwood (foot) and Kaoru Mitoma (back) are also a while away from returning to light training.

Veteran James Milner and youngster Billy Gilmour will also be major doubts for the next few games as they make their way back from injuries.

Arsenal

Manager Mikel Arteta will have to deal with just a couple of injury concerns ahead of his team’s trip to the South Coast. Jurrien Timber is in the final stages of recovering from a cruciate ligament injury picked up in the Gunners’ season opener. He could be in line to make an appearance towards the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Arteta omitted Bukayo Saka from the team’s 2-0 win over Luton, allowing the winger some well-deserved rest. He should be back into the XI for the next game.

Brighton vs Arsenal Prediction

In terms of recent form, Arsenal have the upper hand entering this contest as they have been remarkable both home and away in 2024. History suggests Brighton can produce a big result against the Gunners so they will need to be at their best to avoid a slip-up during a title race.

Considering the defensive form Arsenal are in, combined with Brighton’s goals drying up, this game favours the visitors and their superior squad.

Prediction: Brighton 0-2 Arsenal.

Brighton vs Arsenal Betting Tips & Odds

Both teams have scored in three of the last five meetings between these two teams, with all goals coming at a time when Arsenal had an unsettled backline. The meeting earlier this season saw Arteta’s men dominate and allow Brighton just one shot on target throughout the game. More of the same is expected when they face-off next.
