Carlo Ancelotti’s insists Real Madrid’s hierarchy never complained about their injury issues
Carlo Ancelotti didn’t hold back after Real Madrid managed a mesmerizing late comeback victory over Bayern Munich at Santiago Bernabeu in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final clash. The veteran Italian manager unleashed an indirect message toward other managers who tend to complain about the injury concerns faced by them when their team doesn’t perform on the expected notes.
As quoted by ‘Fabrizio Romano’, the 64-year-old reportedly asserted – “We had many, many problems this season. Not only the injuries of Courtois, Militao, and Alaba…we lost Vinicius for two months, Camavinga too, and Tchouameni”. “But we never complained, never. Look at us now!”. From the Los Blancos manager’s statement, a sense of honesty and belief that his team had what it takes to compete at the biggest stage despite a few setbacks can be felt and sensed.
It is quite true that the Los Blancos had their fair share of injury concerns amidst their 2023-2024 campaign, but it can also be pointed out that they do have most of their prominent players back to full fitness when the business end of the season has arrived. The goal will be for Ancelotti to take his side to their 15th Champions League trophy when they turn up against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley in the finals.
