Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has revealed that the Blues are working on improving their stadium with an increased capacity in mind. Boehly claimed that Chelsea‘s home Stamford Bridge is located at the heart of west London and it is a spot of attraction for supporters.
Boehly further added that they are looking to enhance the stadium’s size and quality over the next decade. He said (via Absolute Chelsea on X):
“Long term we are working on the stadium plan. We have a really unique spot in London. So many people can come to a Chelsea game and we are basically in the heart of west London.”
He added:
“To update the quality and size of the stadium is a priority for us over the next decade. [Plans] have already started, but you have to have a lot of conversations with a lot of constituents…”
Since taking over the Stamford Bridge club, Boehly and co. have spent over one billion USD in the transfer market. The American business tycoon’s latest words prove that he also has other plans to expand the club in mind.
Mauricio Pochettino says Chelsea have already started working on transfer plans
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that the club have already started working on their activity in the transfer market. The Blues could look to sign players and Pochettino added that there might be players who want to leave. He said (via Evening Standard):
“Now is going to start a period where players want to leave, maybe some offers arrive or players that we want to add to the squad. Of course, we have already started to work on this.”
Thiago Silva has already revealed that he will be leaving Chelsea at the end of the season. There could be other transfer dealings worth keeping an eye on as well.
