Chelsea ready to table bid worth €55 million for Palmeiras starlet Estêvão

Despite signing 12 new players last summer and letting go of more than double that figure, Chelsea’s transfer business has been far from over. The Blues have also completed deals for Kendry Paez from Independiente and have sold Lewis Hall to Newcastle United as well. But things are far from over as reports have indicated that the Stamford Bridge side are still in the market to improve their squad.

The Todd Boehly outfit are reportedly unhappy with a few positions and are thus looking to reinforce them this summer with more new faces. That reportedly includes a new goalkeeper, a replacement for Thiago Silva and a striker amongst other positions. However, reports have also indicated that the London side are still on the lookout for young talent and are currently chasing after Estêvão.

Chelsea set to offer €30 million + €25 million for Palmeiras starlet Estêvão

Chelsea have been chasing after the now 17-year-old for more than six months as reports indicated in January that the club were in negotiations for a mega-money deal. But while no move materialized for the young star, the two parties are still in talks with the Blues overly keen on the deal. The forward reportedly has a €60 million release clause, but the club is confident of reaching an agreement for a lower fee.

Bruno Andrade of UOL Esporte has now confirmed that, as the reporter revealed that the Premier League giants are set to offer a fee of around €55 million. That includes €30 million as a fixed fee with add-ons related to various objectives worth around €25 million. However, reports have indicated that Barcelona are also in the running with the La Liga giants keeping a close eye on things.

But while Palmeiras have yet to respond to the reported offer, the club have been steadfast to any suitor and have insisted that their ‘wonderkid’ will stay unless his release clause is paid out. Palmeiras president Leila Pereira reportedly confirmed that in January and reports have indicated that the Brazilian side are in no hurry to part with the 17-year-old starlet.
