Club Brugge vs Borussia Dortmund Player Ratings

Club Brugge 0-3 Borussia Dortmund player ratings as BVB secure three points after substitute Jamie Gittens’ brace

Borussia Dortmund kicked off their UEFA Champions League campaign by defeating Club Brugge 0-3 at the Jan Breydelstadion on Thursday. Last year’s runners-up were pretty much under pressure for most of the match as Brugge were precise with their attack. Substitute Jamie Gittens was the game-changer as he came on the pitch and scored the opener within the first eight minutes. Sharply 10 minutes later he completed his brace as he had acres of space on the left side of the pitch and stepped over two defenders to fire it beyond a sprawling Mignolet into the far corner. Another substitute Serhou Guirassy finished things off during the stoppage time after scoring the penalty, which was practically the last kick of the game.

The first half was entertaining as plenty of chances fell for both sides but neither of them were clinical enough. The Dortmund defenders were under pressure when Andreas Skov Olsen was coming on to them with his pace while Brugge defenders were also having problems dealing with Karim Adeyemi, who has not seen any of his hard work get rewarded in that half.

Let’s have a look at the Club Brugge vs Borussia Dortmund player ratings.
