The Three Lions are favourites to win the Euro 2024 this year even though they are without any major international trophies. Despite being one of the powerhouses in international football, England have struggled to win titles and were the runners-up of Euro 2020. The current crop of English players are undoubtedly some of the world-class players in Europe, with Jude Bellingham being one of the players to look out for in this competition after his stellar start in his debut campaign with Real Madrid. Then we have Harry Kane and Declan Rice who have brilliantly performed for their respective new clubs this campaign. Gareth Southgate’s men will be facing Serbia, Denmark and Slovenia in the group stage.

Didier Deschamps has an embarrassment of riches at his disposal going into the Euro 2024 with France. They have not been crowned European Champions since 2000 and have a relatively young squad compared to other nations. Kylian Mbappe whose set to join Real Madrid in the summer will no doubt be France’s most important player in Germany. The Les Blues arguably have a stronger squad compared to Qatar 2022. Their pedigree on the international stage cannot be pushed aside as they have already proved their mettle by winning the 2018 World Cup.

With Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba leaving the national team setup, the golden generation of Spanish football has officially passed. Luis de la Fuente’s team have some of the youngest talent in their ranks – with the likes of Barcelona duo Pedri and Lamine Yamal complimented by team captain Rodri. Their biggest loss would be Barcelona midfielder Gavi who tore his ACL back in November and will miss out on the Euros this year. Without a shadow of a doubt, Spain believes there are countries equipped with better players than them at the moment. La Roja won the UEFA Nations League last summer and also won back-to-back European Championships in 2008 and 2012.
