Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo was on target for Al Nassr yet again as he bagged a sensational hattrick in the club’s Saudi Pro League tie against Abha. Cristiano opened the scoring for Al Nassr in the 11th minute as he took a free-kick which Abha goalkeeper Tatarusanu spilled leading to goal. However, the second Ronaldo free-kick was the showstopper which stunned fans and critics alike.
Al Nassr was awarded a free-kick 25 yards out from goal in a tricky position. As usual, Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up to take the free-kick in an attempt to double the lead. While the angle made the possibility of a goal low, the Ronaldo free-kick was curled in perfectly by the legend straight into the top left corner of the set stunning fans and doubling the lead of Al Nassr. The blazing free-kick reminded many of a young Cristiano Ronaldo who scored similar free-kicks across his career in Europe.
Apart from the stunning Ronaldo free-kick, fans also had more reason to celebrate as Cristiano scored yet another hattrick in the tie against Abha. The hattrick was football legend’s second hattrick in as many games for Al Nassr as he scored a hattrick in the club’s previous Saudi Pro League tie against Al Tai. The CR7 hattrick propelled Al Nassr to a strong 0-8 victory away from home in a forgettable night for Abha.
For Abha, the loss meant they continued to be in 17th place, in imminent danger of being relegated from the Saudi Pro League. It will be interesting to see if Abha survives the challenge and secures safety for next season.
Al Nassr demolishes an ailing Abha
The victory away from home for Al Nassr saw the club take their points tally to 62 for the season. Despite losing leading goalscorer Anderson Talisca to an injury recently, Al Nassr have been in fine form recently as they rode to a dominating 0-8 victory against Abha. Sadio Mane, Abdulmajeed Al-Sulaiheem, Abdulrahman Ghareeb, and Abdulaziz Al Aliwa all found their names on the scoresheet with captain Cristiano Ronaldo leading the side with his hat trick.
This fine form of Al Nassr couldn’t come at a better time as the club prepares to play Al Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup semi-final in a week’s time. Al Nassr fans will also be eager to see their captain Ronaldo in blazing form against Al Hilal.
