Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo is available to face Al Feiha in their AFC Champions League clash on Wednesday, 14 February. The news comes as a huge boost for the Knights of Najd, who are competing to become Asian champions.
Ronaldo sustained a calf injury during their visit to China, which ruled him out of their proposed friendly matches with Shanghai Shenhua and Zhejiang, with both games eventually getting postponed.
He later sat out of their Inter Miami matchup in Saudi Arabia too, billed as the ‘last dance’ between him and his arch-rival, Lionel Messi. However, with the Argentine also nursing an injury, he only came on for the final six minutes, although the fixture was far from a damp squib as Al Nassr whipped the MLS side 6-0.
Last Thursday, Al Nassr lost 2-0 to Al Hilal in another club friendly with Ronaldo playing the full 90 minutes and being completely ineffective upon his return. But now as their attention turns towards official games, especially the Champions League, the pressure will be on the former Real Madrid star to deliver the goods.
Despite his age, Ronaldo has enjoyed a prolific campaign with the Riyadh outfit, netting 24 goals and making 11 assists from 25 games in all competitions. His impressive numbers include 20 strikes in the Saudi Pro League, more than anyone in the competition right now, whereas his tally of nine assists is also unparalleled.
