D.C United vs Orlando City Preview, Prediction and Betting Tip

D.C United vs Orlando City Preview

DC United is back on home turf to face Orlando City after securing a draw against Columbus Crew in their previous match. Similarly, Orlando City also settled for a draw in their last game against the New York Red Bulls on home turf. Both teams are eager to gain momentum in the early stages of the MLS season. Orlando City enters the weekend with decent form, holding a 1-2-3 record in the conference, while DC United has a 2-4-1 record heading into the match.

DC United, also known as the Black-and-Red, aims to break free from their inconsistent performance streak. Despite their drawn matches, DC United currently holds a five-point lead over Orlando in the standings, with 10 points secured so far, placing them seventh in the Eastern Conference. Conversely, Orlando City has faced challenges, evidenced by their record leading up to the match.

With only one win in their last three games, accompanied by a draw and a loss, Orlando’s form leaves much to be desired. Although they managed a draw against the New York Red Bulls at home last week, Orlando is struggling to establish themselves as a formidable force this season. This ongoing struggle has put them at a disadvantage as they head into the upcoming game against DC United.

Manager Troy Lesene has struggled with injuries this term and that continues as DC United will be without at least three players for the clash against Orlando City. That includes Tyler Miller (Rib fracture), Steve Birnbaum (Arthroscopy), and Russell Canouse (unknown illness).

Meanwhile, Nathan Crockford (head) and Garrison Tubbs (thigh) are both subject to late fitness tests ahead of the game against Orlando City but chances are they won’t make the cut.

Unlike DC United, Oscar Pareja has only one major injury concern and that’s the absence of 22-year-old striker Ramiro Enrique. The forward will be out for an undisclosed amount of time but in his absence, the likes of Luis Muriel, Facundo Torres and co have taken up the brunt of the weight.

DC United appears to have the upper hand heading into this matchup, especially with the advantage of playing on home turf against a struggling Orlando City side. While this doesn’t necessarily ensure a victory for DC, it’s difficult to envision them losing this game. However, as we all know, football can be unpredictable at times.
