Erling Haaland

“If I say this now it will probably be a massive headline” – Erling Haaland sparks transfer speculations

Football world shaken by Erling Haaland transfer hint

Erling Haaland is building his football portfolio with Manchester City. The Norwegian forward has scored 80 goals with City since coming from Borussia Dortmund with €60m on his price tag. When asked about a potential transfer on his name coming in the near future, he answered diplomatically.

Haaland said that he was happy living in Manchester but did not deny any possibility of his future with the club. Some European big names are linked with the son of Alf-Inge including two LaLiga giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Barcelona even stole the attention last week after their sporting director Deco met Haaland’s representative Rafaela Pimento. Blaugrana’s move to Haaland was regarded as a match-up for other rumours linking Real Madrid with Kylian Mbappe.

Erling Haaland transfer – Will he stay at Manchester City?

“I am really happy,” he told the reporters during a press conference ahead of Champions League agenda against Copenhagen. “Especially with the people that I am surrounded with: the manager, the directors, the board. I am really happy.

“If I say this now it will probably be a massive headline: you never know what the future brings but I am happy.”

Erling Haaland’s transfer could might well not be a far-fetched idea as it looks from the forward’s latest comments. However, he is focused on Man City at the moment as he 90 minutes away from securing a spot in the Champions League quarter final.

City hosting Copenhagen at the Etihad Stadium, a side whom they beat in the first leg. Apart from the Champions League, there are still the Premier League and the FA Cup to win and those trophies also becoming Haaland’s priority at the moment.

“I focus on the pitch. There is a lot of games. I think I should focus on that. You can think about it in two ways. One thing, I came here and won it. The other thing, I am 23, I have a taste of winning. When I feel this, I want to win it again.”

Pep Guardiola’s take on Erling Haaland

City manager, Pep Guardiola, is one of the people who impressed with Haaland’s development with the club so far. The Spaniard said that the player has wasted no time to adapt well in the squad thanks to a warm welcome from the already existing players.

“Erling, it was so quick,” Guardiola said. “The guys really embrace the new ones, but the new ones have to do the step depending on who they are. What impressed me the most on the pitch was his character.

The bigger star they are, the more humble they are. I don’t know why but it happened at Barcelona. Normally the big ones understand better.”
