Real Madrid Eyes Erling Haaland as Kylian Mbappe Deal Remains Unsettled

As negotiations with Kylian Mbappe linger in uncertainty, Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Erling Haaland if they fail to secure the Paris Saint-Germain star. Mbappe, with just six months left on his PSG contract, is eligible to engage in talks with other clubs for a summer transfer.

Despite ongoing discussions between Real Madrid and Mbappe, no agreement has been reached, and reports suggest that the player may need to accept a pay cut to finalize a move to Los Blancos.

Real Madrid have set an end-of-January deadline for negotiations, pushing Mbappe to sign a pre-contract, a move that reportedly hasn’t impressed the French forward, who had intended to make a decision later in the year.

Real Madrid, eager to secure a marquee forward this summer, has eyed Erling Haaland as an alternative should Mbappe decline their offer. AS reports that the release clause in Haaland’s Manchester City deal is rumoured to be closer to £100 million than £200 million, though City has not officially disclosed the figure.

Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, indicated in November that the striker is open to a future transfer, emphasizing Haaland’s self-determination in making decisions.

Meanwhile, Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge, suggested the player’s desire to test his skills across various European leagues, envisioning potential stints in Germany, England, Spain, Italy, and France.
