Chelsea Pursues €75 Million Deal for 16-Year-Old Sensation “Messinho” from Palmeiras

In a bold move, Chelsea FC are reportedly ready to break the bank with a staggering €75 million (£64m/$82m) bid to secure the services of 16-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian from Palmeiras. Dubbed “Messinho” due to his likenesses to the iconic Lionel Messi, the rising star has garnered significant attention from top European clubs.

According to reports from Sport, Chelsea have dispatched an official representative to initiate negotiations with Palmeiras. The Premier League giants are prepared to meet the player’s release clause, standing at €60 million (£52m/$66m).

However, sources suggest that the final deal could escalate to a whopping €75 million, underscoring the club’s determination to secure the promising talent.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly withdrawn from the race, citing reluctance to trigger the release clause, providing Chelsea with a clear path to pursue the winger and attacking midfielder.

Other major European clubs, including Barcelona, Arsenal, and Manchester United, were also rumoured to be interested in acquiring the young talent.

Estevao Willian, having made just one senior appearance for Palmeiras, is a key target for Chelsea, who anticipates him joining the club after he turns 18 in 2025.

Chelsea aims to persuade the 16-year-old to reject offers from rival Premier League clubs and European competitors, following in the footsteps of compatriot Deivid Washington, who joined Chelsea from Santos in August. The move reflects Chelsea’s commitment to nurturing and integrating emerging talents into their squad for future success.
