Europa League for Manchester United: Red Devils secure Europe through FA Cup win

The FA Cup final win over Manchester City has secured Europa for Manchester United next season. United defeated their neighbors 2-1 in the Cup final. Alejandro Garnacho (30′) and Kobbie Mainoo (39′) scored for the Red Devils while Jeremy Doku (87′) pulled one back for City.

The win meant United win a silverware this season. It also secured a Europa League place for United next season despite them finishing eighth in the league. United and Tottenham will now play in the Europa League. Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Aston Villa will play in the UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea have been pushed down to the UEFA Conference League despite their sixth place finish. Newcastle, on the other hand, will not feature in Europe despite finishing above Manchester United.

The win in the FA Cup final also sees Erik ten Hag win two trophies in his two seasons at Manchester United. The Dutchman’s future, however, remains uncertain.

Lisandro Martinez and Erik ten Hag were involved in a passionate celebration after Manchester United won the FA Cup. The Argentine started alongside Raphael Varane in the defense. The duo were superb at the back. Martinez lifted Ten Hag after the final whistle was blown.

Martinez was one of Ten Hag’s first signings as the Manchester United boss. The pair have worked together before at Ajax. The Dutchman’s future, however, is uncertain. He had to deliver in the FA Cup final and his side won. Martinez’s passionate celebration with his coach showed what the win meant to the group.
