Gabriel Martinelli Injury: Will the Arsenal Winger Play against Man City?

Arsenal will be taking on Manchester City in a crucial Premier League fixture at the Etihad Stadium on March 30. The match comes across as an important clash for both teams as it could be a defining moment in the 2023-2024 Premier League title race. However, Gabriel Martinelli’s injury could be a major blow for the Gunners before their match against Manchester City.

Gabriel Martinelli injury- latest reports

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wasn’t too concerned about Gabriel Martinelli’s injury after the winger suffered a foot injury while playing for the Gunners in their Premier League fixture against Sheffield United. Arteta labelled that minor injuries are “never too serious” when it comes to Gabriel Martinelli when asked about the player’s unavailability in their following league fixture.

However, Martinelli didn’t play in Arsenal’s Premier League game against Brentford and he wasn’t available for the Gunners Champions League match against Porto. As per reports, there is no confirmed date announced by the club’s hierarchy regarding the winger’s potential return to the first-team squad.

As per ‘Football London’, the 22-year-old Brazilian was spotted walking on crutches after the conclusion of Arsenal’s league match against Brentford FC. His participation in Arsenal’s clash against Manchester City remains unclear as of now. Although Mikel Arteta would love to have him fit and available for their trip to Etihad.

If Gabriel Martinelli would not be able to make it to Arsenal’s first-team squad against Manchester City or even if he’s available but not fit to play for the entire ninety minutes, the Gunners had an in-form player in the form of Leandro Trossard who can fill the void in Martinelli’s absence.

The Belgian international has done well for Arteta’s team whenever he has got his chances. Trossard has seven goals and one assist for the Gunners in the ongoing season of the Englad’s top-flight football league. Keeping in mind that he has not been a prominent starter for Arsenal lately, these numbers speak of his potential and consistency.
