Goalkeeper

Marc-André ter Stegen – 7: Just the one save needed from the goalkeeper today, and it came late in the second half when his side had already sealed the win.

Defenders

Joshua Kimmich – 8: Exquisite performance from the new captain as he was up and down the pitch throughout the game.

Jonathan Tah – 7: Showed why there was so much interest in the defender this summer and why he wants to make the jump from Bayer Leverkusen. He was always in position and never put a foot wrong today.

Nico Schlotterbeck – 6.5: Not his best performance but none of his mistakes cost Germany today. He failed to win any of his ground duels and kept losing possession.

David Raum – 6.5: More involved in attack than defense today. Nothing special and was taken off just after the hour mark.

Midfielders

Robert Andrich – 7.5: No goal or assist for the midfielder, but without his crucial block when the scoreline was 1-0, things could have ended differently for Germany. He was brilliant from the start until the 82nd minute when he was taken off.

Pascal Groß – 7: Played just an hour today and managed to impress. Never put a foot wrong and was always available to stop the Hungary counters.

Florian Wirtz – 9: One of his best matches ever. He was linking up well and his assist and goal were simply too good.

Kai Havertz – 7.5: Hit the bar twice today before he finally got his goal from the spot. A decent performance from the Arsenal star who was playing more like a second striker today.

Jamal Musiala – 9.5: The best player on the pitch today. He was all over the pitch and managed to get a goal and assist three others today.

Forward

Niclas Füllkrug – 7.5: Played just an hour and was always available inside the box. He got the opening goal of the match and was a threat to the Hungary defense.

Goalkeeper

Péter Gulácsi – 5

Should have done a lot better for all the goals in the second half. While the penalty was a 50:50 thing, he just did not do enough to save the other shots.

Defenders

Botond Balogh – 5: Could not handle Musiala and was not able to get close to the German players. Kept chasing them and lost most of his duels.

Willi Orbán – 5: He nutmegged for one goal and then gave away the penalty to seal off a poor performance.

Márton Dárdai – 5.5: Pick of the defenders, but still one of the worst players on the pitch. Won 50% of his duels and misplaced just 8 passes today.

Midfielders

Loic Négo – 5.5: Played just the first half and managed to make just 4 passes in the game. He was never involved in the game but still managed to get a shot away.

András Schäfer – 5: Played the full game but still could not do anything special in the game. Did not win any of his duels today and managed just two interceptions.

Ádám Nagy – 6: Played 82 minutes but just could not control the ball or the flow of the game. He was just chasing the German midfielders and never got close to the ball on most occasions.

Miloš Kerkez – 6: Up and down the pitch but just could not do anything effection today in the 67 minutes he played today.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 7: Kept trying until the very end but just could not get help from his teammates. He was creating chances but could not get a shot away today.

Roland Sallai – 6.5: Stayed in the attacking half most of the time but hardly got the ball. And whenever he did, the German defenders were all over him.

Forward

Barnabás Varga – 5.5: Hardly involved in the game and was just waiting for the ball to arrive at his feet.
