Hernandez injury raises concern for PSG before Dortmund tie

A Lucas Hernandez injury in the 1st leg of the UCL semifinal has raised concerns for PSG regarding the defender’s participation in the 2nd leg against Dortmund.

Lucas Hernandez Injury forces defender to limp-off against Dortmund:

PSG’s semi-final 1st leg tie against Dortmund ended in a 1-0 loss for the Parisians in the Signal Iduna Park. However, a Lucas Hernandez injury has made matters much worse for the Luis Enrique managed side as PSG are set to host Dortmund in a week’s time in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi final. The injury forced the PSG defender to limp-off in the 42nd minute as he went down clutching his knee a few minutes prior.

Early reports are suggesting that the defender may have suffered a rupture in the knee ligament. If the reports regarding the Lucas Hernandez injury hold true, the defender would not only miss the tie against Dortmund in Paris, but could even potentially miss the Euro 2024 scheduled to start in June.

However, PSG hasn’t confirmed the severity of the injury, letting PSG and France breathe a little easier. Further reports will reveal when Lucas Hernandez will ultimately return for PSG.

PSG fall to resilient Dortmund:

When the PSG vs Dortmund UCL semifinal tie was announced, PSG were touted as the favorites to win the fixture. However, on the night of the first leg, Dortmund put up a strong front and managed to leave Signal Iduna Park with a crucial 1-0 victory. A wonderful goal from Niclas Fullkurg in the 36th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides on the night. PSG will now have to show up with all their might to reverse the tide in the second leg of the semi-final if they are to advance to the UCL final.
