Isco will miss the UEFA Euro 2024 due to a leg fracture. The Real Betis midfielder won 19 Man of the Match awards in 28 La Liga appearances this season. Isco suffered the blow during a recent 2-2 draw against Las Palmas

He has suffered an injury to his calf. Betis said in a statement (via Channels TV):

“After the rests taken by Isco today it is confirmed that the Malaga-born player suffered a shaft fracture in his left leg’s fibula. The club’s medical team will evaluate in the coming hours whether he needs surgery to fix the injury.”

Isco is a seasoned Spain international. He has so far made 38 appearances for La Roja, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists. Isco joined Betis in the summer and has so far made 36 appearances for La Roja, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists.

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente recently admired Isco

Spain coach Luis de la Fuente recently spoke highly about Isco. De la Fuente said he is an admirer of the former Real Madrid wizard. His words also hinted that Isco could be in line for a call-up for the Euros. He said (via ESPN):

“He’s having a spectacular season and he can come. He hasn’t been with us due to various setbacks. We all know him and we know how talented he is. I publicly declare myself an admirer of Isco.”

The latest injury, however, is a crushing blow to Isco’s chances of making the squad. Considering the midfielder is 32, this was perhaps his last chance to play a big tournament.
